There is a heavy military presence at the Ejura Sekyedumase constituency collation centre in the Ashanti Region.
As sorting began in the evening, a truckload of armed soldiers arrived at the premises where the activity was underway.
Some residents were heard shouting as the officers disembarked from the vehicle near the collation centre.
JoyNews' Nana Boakye Yiadom reported that their inquiries returned with an assurance that the military was there only to observe the proceedings.
Meanwhile, pressmen earlier expressed concern as they were prevented by police and EC officials from entering the sorting and counting area.
However, the journalists have now been able to access the venue, leaving the political party observers, who, according to EC officials, must first undergo proper verification.
Voting has officially concluded across the 276 constituencies in the presidential and parliamentary elections.
The elections, which commenced early Saturday morning, saw citizens enthusiastically turning out at their designated polling stations to exercise their right to elect the country’s next set of leaders.
