Special Aide to President-elect, John Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, says Mr Mahama is a decent individual with the country at heart, and if given the necessary support, he will deliver to the satisfaction of all.
She stated that Mr Mahama has suffered at the hands of propaganda and has often been portrayed as an imperfect person when in reality he is a decent man capable of delivering.
She added that the former president, who has regained power, "suffered immensely at the hands of propaganda and was also maligned in ways that should not have been tolerated."
Mrs Mogtari said that despite the criticism against him, everyone must agree that "John Mahama is a decent individual."
“With the right support, John Mahama will deliver on his promises to you; with the right support, John Mahama will not disrespect you,” she continued.
Mr Mahama made a historic return to the presidency after eight years in opposition. He has promised to reset the country by creating jobs, fighting corruption, empowering women, and improving the living conditions of all citizens.
At the end of Saturday's polls, he secured a landslide victory, garnering 6,328,397 votes out of a total of 11,430,531 valid votes cast. The outgoing Vice President and flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, received 4,657,304 votes.
The president-elect is scheduled to meet with the outgoing president, Nana Akufo-Addo, tomorrow, Wednesday, December 11, to form a joint inaugural transitional team.
