In a triumphant celebration of unity and determination, the Volta Region has once again reaffirmed its unwavering loyalty to the National Democratic Congress (NDC), after the resounding victory of the party in the just-concluded presidential and parliamentary elections.
The Volta Regional Chairman, Comrade Mawutor Agbavitor, extended heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders, party members, and the people of the region for their monumental contribution to this historic achievement.
A Record-Setting Performance
Under the inspiring leadership of President-Elect John Dramani Mahama, the NDC garnered an extraordinary 90.11% of the votes in the Volta Region, a resounding endorsement of the party’s vision for a better Ghana. This overwhelming support left the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia trailing with a meager 8.7%.
The victory also marked a significant political milestone in Hohoe, where the NDC reclaimed the parliamentary seat from the NPP.

“Your determination and resolve have demonstrated the true spirit of the Volta Region,” the press release stated, lauding the efforts of voters in Hohoe for their decisive action.
Unity and Leadership in Action
Comrade Agbavitor acknowledged the collective effort of various stakeholders, including the Council of Elders led by H.E. Dan Abodakpui, Members of Parliament, Regional and Constituency Executives, Branch Executives, and grassroots mobilisers.
He also extended special thanks to the revered Chiefs and Queen Mothers across the region for their invaluable guidance and support.
The success, he emphasized, was a testament to the strategic leadership and tireless sacrifices of the party’s members at all levels, from grassroots organisers to top executives.
Challenges Ahead
Despite the celebrations, the NDC remains cognizant of the significant challenges ahead. The Volta Regional Chairman described Ghana’s current economic state as dire, citing mismanagement by the NPP government.
He assured the region that the NDC is committed to restoring hope and delivering on its manifesto promises, with a focus on tangible development for the Volta Region and beyond.

“We must not lose sight of the challenges that lie ahead. The economy has been seriously battered by the NPP government’s ineptitude and mismanagement, leaving Ghanaians in severe hardship,” the statement read.
A Call for Humility and Unity
Comrade Agbavitor called on members and supporters to celebrate this historic moment with humility and grace.
He urged them to remain magnanimous in victory, fostering peace and unity, which are hallmarks of the NDC and the Volta Region.
“Together, we will build the Ghana we all deserve,” he concluded, rallying the party faithful to forge ahead with courage, solidarity, and determination.
Looking Ahead
As the NDC basks in this hard-earned victory, it remains resolute in its mission to address the country’s pressing challenges and usher in an era of hope and development under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama.
This historic moment marks not just a victory for the NDC but a reaffirmation of the Volta Region’s pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s political future.
Signed by Comrade Mawutor Agbavitor, the press release encapsulates the optimism and determination of the NDC to deliver on its promises and lead Ghana towards a brighter future.
