Adom FM’s DJ Promise, popularly known as “Aww Promise,” has reclaimed his title as Best Radio DJ of the Year at the 5th Dangme Music Awards.
Held on December 1, 2024, in Kasseh, Ada, the prestigious award scheme celebrates talent in the Dangme community, focusing on music and arts across Ada, Ningo, Prampram, Shai Hills, Osudoku, Dodowa, and Somanya.
This marks a significant milestone for DJ Promise, who first won the award in 2021, placed as the second runner-up in 2022, and now returns to the top spot.
His consistent recognition underscores his unwavering dedication to his craft as a radio DJ on Adom 106.3 FM.
Speaking after his win, DJ Promise expressed gratitude and a renewed commitment to his audience, “the Dangme Music Awards Scheme recognized my untiring work, this honour is a great task for me to make an even greater impact in the coming years, and I promise to deliver.”
Known for his unique moniker, “Aww Promise,” the DJ explained the inspiration behind it: “Music carries power; it’s the food for the soul, when certain lyrics move you deeply, you instinctively chant ‘Aww,’ that’s how I got my name.”
DJ Promise’s win reflects his passion for music and his role in promoting the Dangme culture through his talent and dedication.
