Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has showered praise on Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante following his decisive performance in their 1-0 win over Bristol City in the EFL Championship on Saturday.
Thomas-Asante ended his goal drought since October by scoring the only goal of the match with a powerful strike from a tight angle.
The goal, assisted by Jack Rudoni, rattled the underside of the crossbar before finding the net, marking the forward’s second of the season.
Lampard was full of admiration for the 26-year-old’s contribution, saying: "He didn’t play so many minutes, especially in his favoured position when I first got here because we’ve got some competition there, but his work ethic since he’s in has been good and his all-round game has been good.”
He continued: “The last bit has been missing, but you have to work towards that, and he deserved that today.”
The win extended Coventry City’s unbeaten home record to six matches, propelling them to 14th in the Championship standings.
Meanwhile, despite ongoing interest from Blackburn Rovers, Lampard has made it clear that Thomas-Asante is staying at the club.
