Six players from Nsoatreman FC have been formally charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for misconduct and unsporting behavior during their Ghana Premier League match against Asante Kotoko on February 2, 2025.
The charges stem from a brawl that broke out during the match which eventually led to violent acts at the Nana Koromansah II Stadium resulting in the death of a Kotoko fan, Francis Frimpong, also known as Pooley.
The players charged are: Stephen Diyou sent off during the match for fighting Frank Dongballe,Abdul Rahaman Mohammed, Walid Neymar Fuseini, Mohammed Issaka and Eric Osei Bonsu.
They are accused of breaching Section 12(1)(j) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, 2019, which addresses misconduct and unsporting behavior.
The players have until Wednesday, February 5, 2025, to respond to the charges.
The GFA's disciplinary committee will investigate the incident and take appropriate action according to the rules of the game.
This development is part of ongoing efforts to address violent disturbances and prevent similar incidents in future fixtures.
