A fire outbreak at the Fineprint Warehouse in the Tema Industrial Area has been successfully confined by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The warehouse, which stores paper rolls for books, cement bags, and other materials, caught fire in the late afternoon, prompting an emergency response.
The fire was reported at 16:13 GMT, and the first fire pump from the Tema Metro Fire Station arrived at the scene at 16:25 GMT. After intense firefighting efforts, the blaze was successfully confined by 17:57 GMT.
To combat the fire, six fire pumps were deployed from various fire stations, including Tema Metro, Newtown, Industrial Area, Ashaiman, Motorway, and Tema Oil Refinery Fire Stations. Firefighters worked diligently to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby warehouses and structures.
As of now, no injuries or fatalities have been recorded. Firefighters remain at the scene to ensure the complete extinguishment of the fire, while an investigation is expected to determine the cause of the outbreak.
Authorities have advised businesses in the Tema Industrial Area to strengthen fire safety measures to prevent future occurrences.
