The African Governance Centre (AGC) is set to officially launch the African Political Parties Initiative (APPI) on 7th March 2025 in Accra, Ghana.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to foster cooperation, strengthen democratic governance, and advance policy innovation among political parties across the African continent.
The launch event will bring together high-level political leaders, policymakers, governance experts, and representatives of political parties from various African nations.

Discussions will focus on the role of political parties in Africa’s democratic transformation and sustainable development, highlighting the need for collaboration in shaping governance frameworks.
President John Dramani Mahama is expected to deliver the keynote address at the event, setting the stage for a critical dialogue on political leadership and governance in Africa.
The APPI seeks to bridge gaps between political entities, strengthen democratic institutions, and promote cross-border policy coordination to address Africa’s pressing governance challenges.
By facilitating dialogue and cooperation, the initiative aims to enhance political stability and policy effectiveness across the continent.
