Bibiani GoldStars secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nations FC at Duns Park in their matchweek 23 fixture of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Heading into the game, league leaders GoldStars had been in impressive form, recording nine wins, seven draws, and three losses in 19 matches.
They also boasted the league’s best home record with seven wins, making them favorites to capitalize on their home advantage.
Meanwhile, Nations FC, who were fifth and just two points behind GoldStars, had gone winless in their last two games—a streak they hoped to end when the league resumed.
After a goalless first half marked by missed chances, GoldStars finally broke the deadlock in the 69th minute through Michael Nkoah. His goal proved decisive, as the home side held on to claim all three points.
The victory moves GoldStars level on points with Asante Kotoko at the top of the table, both sitting at 37 points after 20 games. Nations FC, now winless in three consecutive matches, drop to sixth in the standings.
Notably, goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi extended his clean sheet record to 12 games, keeping him in strong contention for the Golden Glove award.
