Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku has reiterated his desire to "rebuild a building that has crashed" regarding the state of the sport having been elected on the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football.

Kurt was elected uncontested to serve on the 24-member body which sees the continent's activities.

He has been the head of Ghana's football governing body since 2019 following Anas Aremeyaw Anas' investigative piece which brought the game to a standstill.

"I think we started a journey after the game had collapsed," Kurt said in an interview with Freelance journalist Alexis Laura.

"I have always said that the journey to fix the game will be a tough one, it will be very demanding but it will always be possible to deliver football the way it has to be delivered.

"I will also continue on that journey of hope to rebuild a building that has crashed.

"It takes a lot of effort, investment, patience and I will always ask all of us to be very patient with a process."

Kurt, who replaced Kwesi Nyantakyi as President of the GFA is in his second term after going unopposed in the 2023 Elective Congress.

He has been under intense scrutiny from Ghanaians following the performances of national teams and the management of domestic competitions.
