The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) will be briefing the public in the coming days on its preparations and activities ahead of the rainy season to mitigate environmental disasters.
It expressed its readiness and preparedness to ensure the safety of lives and properties ahead of the major rainy season.
A source close to the Communication Directorate told the Ghana News Agency in an interview on Wednesday that the organisation inspected some facilities and properties destroyed during Tuesday’s rainstorm in Accra.
The storm caused structural damage to the solar panel covering a section of the carport of the A&C Mall, impacting several vehicles. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
The NADMO also visited areas where trees fell on vehicles and structures, including the Kotobabi Police Station environs, where a moving car was hit by a falling tree, injuring the driver.
