The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Development Company Limited (GTDC), Professor Kobby Mensah, has expressed confidence in his ability to deliver on his mandate.
The Associate Professor at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) stated that he is humbled by the role and cannot afford to disappoint the appointing authority, President John Mahama.
Prof. Mensah made this disclosure in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, emphasizing that the support and goodwill messages he has received have been overwhelming.
“People have commended the President for including people in academia in his governance, and the only thing I can do is to make sure I repay the confidence reposed in me. I can’t disappoint this man. The journey has so far been good with everything going on smoothly,” he said.
GTDC is mandated to promote and mobilize resources for investment in tourism undertakings and services.
The company also seeks equity participation in joint ventures with both Ghanaians and foreign entities in tourism development projects.
In addition, GTDC provides financial and technical assistance to small businesses in the tourism industry to improve the efficiency and quality of their services.
The company also engages in ventures that may generate profits or enhance the value of its properties or rights.
