The Director of Elections and Information Technology for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Rashid Tanko-Computer, has stated that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will never understand the reasons behind their landslide defeat in the 2024 general elections.
“These people (NPP), up until now, still do not know why they lost the election, and I am happy they are still trying to figure it out. Even after the report presented by Prof Mike Quaye, they still do not know why they lost. You see? They don’t know, and they will not know,” he said on JoyNews' The Pulse on Wednesday, April 23.
Dr Tanko-Computer’s comments followed Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent statement that the party’s defeat was due to voter apathy among its supporters, rather than any religious factors.

Dr Tanko-Computer added that the NDC is working hard to retain power in the 2028 elections, saying, “We are preparing 30% for them in 2028, and thank God, we are moving in the right direction.”
