Ghana picked up a second win in the boys' category of the ongoing CAF African Schools Football Championship after beating South Africa.
The Black Comets sealed a 1-0 victory, with Ignatius Hagan scoring the only goal of the game.
Hagan, who finished as the top scorer in the WAFU B Qualifiers in Niger, was handed a starting berth ahead of Rockson Adjei in the striker's role.
The youngster repaid the faith shown in him with the winner just before the halftime whistle, following brilliant work from John Andor.
Andor took on his markers in one of his adventurous solo runs before cutting the ball back into the path of Hagan, who made no mistake from just 12 yards out.
Earlier in the game, Andor could have opened the scoring himself but was twice denied from close range.
The second half saw little threat from either side, with Ghana largely containing pressure from the South Africans.
In the end, the victory saw Ghana claim all three points, putting them in pole position to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
