Aduana FC claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory over Berekum Chelsea in a pulsating Bono derby at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday.
The hosts made a lively start and were rewarded in the 14th minute when defender Alex Boakye opened the scoring.
However, Berekum Chelsea grew into the game and levelled just before the break through Stephen Amankona, who struck in the 42nd minute.
Amankona continued his fine form after the restart, putting the visitors ahead five minutes into the second half with his second of the afternoon.
But the lead lasted just two minutes. Elvis Addo responded immediately for Aduana, restoring parity in the 47th minute to set up a tense finale.
Both sides pressed for a winner, but it was Godfred Poku Wakii who provided the decisive moment, netting in the 72nd minute to seal a vital three points for Aduana.
The result lifts Aduana to 11th in the Ghana Premier League standings, leapfrogging them closer to mid-table safety. Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, remain in 10th place.
