The Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has pledged its support for the men’s relay team ahead of the 2025 World Athletics Championships.
The quartet - Barnabas Aggerh, Joseph Paul Amoah, Mustapha Alufar Bokpin, and Ibrahim Fuseini -secured qualification after finishing second behind France in their heat at the World Athletics Relays in Guangzhou.
The team clocked a season-best time of 38.32 seconds to book their place at the global showpiece scheduled for later this year.
"We need to congratulate the athletes for the hardwork and their commitment and also for the Ghana Athletics for their consistency,” GOC President Richard Akpokavie exclusively told JoySports.
"We should have a budget for them in terms of their training, medical support, coaching support, competition support.
"Hopefully, if we finish our engagement, we will have a plan in place with some funding in place to ensure that if they are going for the World Championships, they [would not] have a problem."
The 2025 World Athletics Championships, where Ghana's men's relay team will compete, is scheduled for September 13, 2025, in Tokyo.
