The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has revealed that the government will commence Phase I of its ambitious ‘Big Push’ infrastructure programme this month.
The initiative, which forms a key part of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s policy agenda, is designed to accelerate infrastructure development, boost economic growth, and create sustainable jobs nationwide.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, July 8, Mr. Agbodza stated that all necessary groundwork has been completed to pave the way for the project’s implementation.
“We have concluded the studies, the design, and the costing for the first phase of the Big Push project,” he said. “We are currently in the process of securing the relevant approvals under the Public Financial Management Act to enable us to begin works this month.”
He reiterated the government's commitment to expanding and improving Ghana’s road infrastructure as part of a broader vision to support inclusive development and long-term economic transformation.
