Minister of Government Communications Felix Kwakye Ofosu announced that he will address the nation at 4 p.m. regarding the National Cathedral and related matters.
In a Facebook post on Friday, July 18, Kwakye Ofosu said, "I will hold a press briefing at 4 pm on the National Cathedral and matters arising. Stay tuned."
This comes after the Board of Directors of the National Cathedral of Ghana opposed attempts to convert the state-owned land designated for the Cathedral project into a Cultural Convention Centre.
In a statement released after an emergency meeting held on July 7, the Board said it had received no official communication regarding the decision to convert the cathedral but found it necessary to respond to the reports.
