Ivory Coast defeated Ghana 2-1 in the semi-final of the 2025 WAFU-B Boys Cup to book a place in the final of the tournament.
The Black Satellites took an early lead through Benjamin Tsivanyo, who fired home from outside the box just under two minutes into the game at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.
Ivory Coast, however, responded before halftime, leveling the score at 1-1 in an evenly contested first half.
While Ghana enjoyed spells of dominance, especially in aerial duels and attacking build-up, it was the Ivorians who found the breakthrough in the second half. Midfielder Ali Kone scored a long-range effort in the 69th minute to hand Ivory Coast a 2-1 lead.
Despite Ghana’s attempts to find an equalizer, the Ivorian defense held firm to secure the win.
Ivory Coast will now Nigeria in the final of the competition which is expected to be played at the University of Ghana Stadium.
