The CEO of Mobile Money Limited, Mr. Shaibu Haruna, has unveiled an ambitious vision to accelerate the expansion of MoMo and broaden its impact across Ghana.
Central to this plan is the goal of helping build Ghana’s digital future by unlocking opportunities for all citizens.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Mr Haruna said, “It’s a straightforward one but also a deep one, which is basically to build Ghana’s digital future together, and this will be done by unlocking opportunities for everyone.”
He explained that modernising the country’s digital infrastructure is a key priority.
“We are looking to modernise our foundation by making technology accessible to everyone.”he stated.
Mr Haruna also highlighted the strategic shift to evolve MoMo from a simple payment platform into an essential lifestyle tool.
“We are aiming to evolve MoMo from being just a payment tool into becoming an essential part of everyday life. That transition is necessary.”he added.
Emphasising MoMo’s broader role, he said it is more than just a payment method for businesses — it is a partner for growth and socio-economic transformation.
“For businesses, MoMo should not just be a means of payment, but a partner for growth. And also, from a nation-state point of view, to be a real partner for socio-economic transformation.”
With this vision, MoMo is set to become a major driver of digital inclusion, business innovation, and sustainable socio-economic development throughout Ghana.
