Former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has firmly denied claims that he has switched his support to the camp of Kennedy Agyapong in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) internal presidential race.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, 7 August 2025, Mr Nkansah dismissed the rumours as false and misleading.
According to him, he remains a staunch supporter of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, whom he described as the candidate best positioned to lead the party into the 2028 general elections.
“I have not switched camps. I am still the number one supporter of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,” Nkansah wrote, reiterating his loyalty to the Vice President’s political vision and leadership.
Mr Nkansah, who played a visible role in Dr Bawumia’s campaign ahead of the NPP’s 2023 presidential primaries, expressed disappointment at attempts to distort his political stance.
He urged party members and the public to disregard the rumours, which he said are being peddled to create confusion within the party’s ranks.
The NPP is expected to hold internal elections in the coming months to determine its new flagbearer following the party’s defeat in the 2024 general elections.
