Your most authoritative entertainment talk show, Showbiz A-Z, aired on Joy 99.7FM, has birthed a new segment which premieres on Saturday, 16th August 2025.
The segment named MUSIC LAB, is designed to be both engaging and insightful. It takes listeners behind the curtain of Ghana’s most talked-about songs, exploring the creative and technical processes that bring them to life.
'Music Lab' is a monthly show that explores Ghanaian music with the depth and curiosity of a laboratory experiment. It goes beyond the usual music reaction format, which is now common across vlogs and podcasts.
The segment dissects tracks from multiple angles: vocals, lyrics, instrumentation, arrangement, and production. With expert commentary from musicologists, music producers, and creatives, 'Music Lab' is both educational and entertaining, making it relevant to a wide audience: music lovers, culture enthusiasts, and industry professionals alike.
The segment aims to to demystify the artistic and technical processes behind hit songs, spotlight the creativity and skill involved in Ghanaian music production, celebrate the diversity and evolution of Ghana’s music culture, bridge entertainment with industry-level critique and analysis, and serve as a learning platform for aspiring artistes and producers.
It targets general music lovers; recording artistes and producers; students of music, media, and the arts; culture and entertainment enthusiasts; industry stakeholders and professionals.
Showbiz A-Z airs every Saturday on Joy 99.7 FM from 2pm to 6pm. It is hosted by Kwame Dadzie and produced by Philip Nai, with support from Anita Teye, Olivier Fangnon and DJ Wobeti.
