NPP activist Daniel Adomako, popularly known as Sir Obama Pokuase, and TikTok personality Prince Ofori, alias Fante Comedy, have been granted bail by an Accra Circuit Court but will spend the night in police custody.
The court granted Fante Comedy bail of GH¢100,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be gainfully employed. He is also required to surrender his passport to the police until further notice.
He was arrested on Tuesday, August 12, together with two others, over allegations of issuing death threats and publishing false news connected to the August 6 military helicopter crash. His case has been adjourned to August 25, 2025.
In a separate case, Sir Obama Pokuase was granted bail of GH¢50,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be salaried workers.
One surety must be a government employee earning at least GH¢3,000. He was arrested on Wednesday, August 13, during intelligence-led operations targeting the illegal possession and display of sophisticated weapons.
Police say he is assisting in investigations into videos and images circulating on social media showing individuals brandishing high-grade firearms.
The Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with other security agencies, says the probe forms part of a broader operation to dismantle illegal arms networks.
Authorities report that the ongoing operations have so far led to the recovery of a substantial cache of unlicensed weapons and ammunition.
