Former Vice President and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has said that his vision for Ghana is centred on creating opportunities for young people through innovation, economic expansion, and a digital-driven economy.
Dr Bawumia made this known after addressing thousands of party faithful who had gathered as he filed his nomination to contest in the party’s flagbearer race.
Dr Bawumia noted that Ghana’s greatest asset lies in its youthful population, and his leadership would prioritise policies that expand jobs, support entrepreneurship, and harness technology for inclusive growth.
“My vision is to energise domestic production and job creation, lessen the fiscal burden by dedicating more support to the private sector, and ensure that young people have opportunities to thrive,” he said.
He emphasised that a Bawumia-led government would focus on building a modern, digitalised economy that offers equal opportunities to all, including women and the physically challenged.
“My vision is for a modern economy where access to credit is not just for the privileged few but for all, as in advanced countries. This is how we can empower our youth and grassroots to play a meaningful role in nation-building,” he added.
Dr Bawumia further pledged to reduce the cost of living, strengthen grassroots participation in governance, and ensure constituency-based development.
“My vision is to expand the Ghanaian economy through rich ideas that support businesses, create incentives, and accelerate the pace of job creation for our youth,” he told party delegates.
