Newly signed Asante Kotoko defender Musa Hamzata has said that he is unfazed by the competition for places in the team.
Hamzata signed a three-year contract with Asante Kotoko on Tuesday, ending his two-year stint with Accra Lions.
While speaking in glowing terms about his new teammates, Hamzata added that he relished the prospect of competing for places on the team.
They are top players in our league who have much experience. Looking at (Henry) Ansu, Zakaria (Fuseini), and the others, they are experienced players.’’
‘‘I had the opportunity to go elsewhere and was assured of much playing time, but I chose to come here because competition also helps a player develop, so I am sure I can break through and play.’’

The six-foot center back has progressed steadily over the years.
He first joined Accra Lions on a two-year deal from the Kenpong Football Academy in September 2023.
In his first season, Hamzata started twenty out of twenty-two league matches, averaging eighty-four minutes per match.
Last season, he made twenty-five appearances in the Ghana Premier League and started in all of them.
In March, he scored his first goal in the Ghana Premier League against Legon Cities. His second goal followed a month later, against Basake Holy Stars
He ended the season with another goal in the 5-3 win over Aduana Stars.
Hamzata is expected to be named in Kotoko's squad for Sunday's Champion of Champions match against Bibiani Gold Stars.
