Former Vice President and 2024 NPP Presidential Candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has boldly declared that he has been the most effective Vice President in Ghana’s history, citing his record of reforms and policy innovations.
Addressing party supporters after filing his nomination to contest the NPP flagbearer slot, Dr Bawumia said his tenure was defined by transformational initiatives that reshaped Ghana’s economy and governance systems.
“From digital reforms to stabilising the financial sector, introducing social interventions, and expanding access to education and health, my record speaks for itself. I have been the most effective Vice President in our nation’s history,” he asserted.
He pointed to the implementation of the Ghana Card, mobile money interoperability, and the digitalisation of public services as examples of his impact on modernising the economy and improving efficiency.
“These policies are not abstract ideas; they have touched the lives of millions of Ghanaians. That is the effectiveness I bring,” Dr Bawumia said.
Calling on delegates to support his vision, Dr Bawumia stressed that Ghana’s future requires proven leadership.
“This is about track record and capacity. I have shown competence, innovation and results. That is why I believe I am best placed to lead the NPP and Ghana into the future,” he concluded.
