The Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Fosu, has warned that public officials who breach directives governing the country’s participation in the 80th United Nations General Assembly will face sanctions.
According to him, a presidential directive issued on Saturday, August 30, ahead of the meeting, indicates that disciplinary measures would be enforced under the Code of Conduct for Public Office Holders as well as the Civil and Public Service Codes of Conduct.
"Any official who flouts this directive will face strict sanctions in accordance with the Code of Conduct for Public Office Holders and the Civil and Public Service Codes of Conduct," he cautioned.
The move, he explained, is intended to instil discipline and accountability in the state machinery.
According to Mr Fosu, the directive forms part of measures to ensure a lean, coherent, and cost-effective national representation, in line with President Mahama’s "Resetting Ghana” agenda.
