The Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Dr. Stephen Amoah, has addressed questions about his marital status, saying it should not be seen as unusual that he does not have a wife.
He was speaking in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem morning show after the host asked why he does not go on campaign tours with his wife.
“I don’t have a wife. Is it everyone who has a wife? Why are you disgracing me on air? Is it a crime not to have a wife?” he asked.
He further clarified media reports suggesting he described himself as lonely, noting that his comment was taken out of context.
“I only said that I am very lonely and alone in my private life. A lot of people, when they get close to me, are shocked to see that I am calm. I am always alone doing my things, reading, studying, or focusing on politics. But when I am out, I am very playful and fine with everyone,” he explained.
The MP stressed that his statement about loneliness referred only to his private moments and not to his public or political life.
