Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, the Founder of The Hudu Foundation, has donated GH₵10,000 and GH₵1,000 branded exercise books to the Wa Municipal Education Directorate in support of an upcoming quiz competition.
The donation was presented on behalf of the foundation by a delegation led by the Upper West Regional Islamic Education Manager, Alhaji Rashid Mahmud, at the forecourt of the Directorate.
Alhaji Mahmud noted that, beyond this initial support, The Hudu Foundation has also pledged to cover the cost of prizes for deserving schools and students at the end of the competition. This, he explained, is to celebrate academic excellence while motivating other schools to strive for higher standards in subsequent editions.
He further explained that the gesture forms part of the annual educational support initiatives by Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, who doubles as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Standards Authority, GSA.
“The aim is to sustain the quiz competition, encourage student participation, and uplift academic performance across the municipality”, Alhaji Rashid added.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Directorate, Madam Sophia Dimah Nandzo, the Wa Municipal Education Director, expressed appreciation for the support. She said the donation will go directly towards the Radio Quiz Competition organised on Radio Progress for selected schools in the municipality.

Madam Nandzo recalled that the maiden edition of the competition was held last year, with prizes sponsored by The Hudu Foundation and presented during Ghana’s Independence Day celebrations on March 6. Preparations, she added, are already underway for the second edition, which will also climax on March 6 next year.
She commended Alhaji Mogtari for his consistency and pledged support, stressing that such interventions play a critical role in motivating both pupils and teachers, improving learning outcomes, and fostering healthy academic competition.
Madam Nandzo further urged other philanthropists and stakeholders to emulate the gesture, noting that the Directorate also organises reading festivals at the school, circuit, and district levels to strengthen literacy skills.
“Strong reading skills are the foundation for success in all subjects and a vital tool in preparing future productive citizens,” she emphasised.
