President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, says he is putting adequate measures to ensure there is no repetition of the Black Stars 2014 World Cup experience.
Ghana beame a laughing stock on the global stage following the then Mahama-led administrtaion's decision to fly money to Brazil to settled the player's bonuses after an unrest in camp.
That infamous incident, according to Mahama, did a lot of damage to the country's reputation.
"Brazil 2014 dented Ghana’s reputation, but that is all behind us now," he said in an interview with Sporty FM.
"We’ve encouraged the GFA to ensure that payments due to the players are processed as quickly as possible. To ensure Brazil doesn’t happen again, there must be discipline and transparency.
"We believe this campaign should be more disciplined and transparent. Often when decisions are made and funding is opaque, it creates all kinds of rumours and misconceptions in society.
"The players have accounts now. We can pay their money directly instead of flying cash to them. That’s why I say the lessons of 2014 have been learned, and I believe this will be a smoother, more disciplined, and transparent campaign."
The Black Stars booked a place in next year's World Cup following a 1-0 win over Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
