President John Dramani Mahama and his delegation are currently in China to participate in a series of high-level engagements.


Upon their arrival, the President and his wife, First Lady Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, attended the opening session of the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women.


The event, organised by the Government of the People’s Republic of China in collaboration with UN Women, was officially opened by Chinese President Xi Jinping.


Following that, President Mahama also took part in the Presidential Investment Forum in Beijing, where President Xi pledged China’s support to help Ghana transform its resource wealth into sustainable development and benefit from Beijing’s zero-tariff policy for African countries.


On his part, President John Dramani Mahama lauded China’s remarkable achievement in lifting millions of its citizens from poverty into prosperity within a short period, describing it as an inspiring model for developing nations like Ghana.


President John Dramani Mahama also welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping’s pledge to support Ghana in transforming its vast resource wealth into sustainable development through zero-tariff trade.
