Renowned Business mogul Sir Sam Jonah and academic scholar Professor Pikay Richardson are set to officially launch their new book titled “Mastering Leadership: Principles, Practice and Lessons” on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
According to the authors, the book explores key leadership principles and practical lessons drawn from decades of professional experience, offering readers valuable insights into effective leadership across sectors.
The launch which will take place at the Accra Marriott Hotel, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm will feature a leadership dialogue session, networking opportunities, and a celebration of excellence in leadership practice. The session will also provide a platform for thought-provoking discussions on leadership challenges and opportunities within Ghana and across Africa.
Billed as an evening of “leadership dialogue, networking, and celebration,” the launch will bring together policymakers, business executives, scholars, and leadership enthusiasts to engage with the authors’ deep insights on effective leadership in a rapidly changing world.
The book, Mastering Leadership: Principles, Practice and Lessons, distills decades of experience from both authors, Sir Sam Jonah, renowned business executive and former CEO of Ashanti Goldfields, and Professor Pikay Richardson, an internationally acclaimed academic and leadership strategist.
About Sir Samuel Esson Jonah
Sir Sam Jonah is one of Africa’s most accomplished business leaders and a globally respected voice on corporate governance and leadership.
He served as Chief Executive Officer of Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited, transforming it from a single-mine operation into a multinational mining giant listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Currently the Executive Chairman of Jonah Capital, a private investment firm based in Johannesburg, Sir Jonah has played advisory roles in several international organisations and sits on numerous boards across sectors.
He is a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE), awarded for his exceptional contribution to business and industry. His leadership journey embodies excellence, integrity, and vision, qualities that have made him a mentor to many across the continent.
About Professor Pikay Richardson
Professor Pikay Richardson is a Ghanaian-born academic and management consultant with decades of teaching and research experience in leadership, strategy, and organisational development.
He served as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester Business School (UK), where he guided countless executives and students on the principles of effective leadership and decision-making.
Prof. Richardson has also consulted for various international organisations, providing advisory support on public policy, corporate transformation, and education.
A thought leader passionate about developing Africa’s next generation of ethical leaders, he continues to advocate for leadership rooted in service, responsibility, and continuous learning.
