The Ghana Police Service in Kintampo has advised the Concerned Citizens of Kintampo to postpone their planned demonstration over the poor state of roads in the municipality.
In a statement signed by the Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent Samuel Kofi Ghampson, the police acknowledged receipt of a letter from the group, notifying them of their intention to stage a peaceful protest to demand better road infrastructure.
The police, while commending the group for their peaceful approach, expressed regret that they would not be able to provide the necessary security cover for the demonstration at this time due to the current disturbances in Gulumpe, where police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order.
'“We regret to inform you that due to the current disturbances in Gulumpe, our personnel are currently deployed to maintain law and order in that area. As a result, we may not be able to provide the necessary security cover for your demonstration at this time,” the statement noted.

The service assured that once calm is restored in Gulumpe and personnel are redeployed, the police will provide full protection for the planned demonstration.
“We assure you that once the situation in Gulumpe returns to normal and our personnel are redeployed, we will provide the necessary protection and security for your demonstration. We value the right to peaceful assembly and will work with you to ensure your voices are heard safely,” it added.
