The Bono Regional Police Command has opened an investigation into the brutal killing of two security guards employed by ADRAS Timber Company at the Mpamso Forest near Nsuhia, in the Dormaa Central Municipality.

A police statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer for the Command, indicated that the attack took place on 26th October, 2025.

Approximately 200 suspected illegal chainsaw operators, armed with firearms and machetes, reportedly stormed the timber concession and launched a violent assault.

The victims, identified as 34-year-old Sani Aliyu and 35-year-old Ibrahim Musa, were fatally shot during the incident.

Police officers who later arrived at the scene discovered the bodies lying about 100 metres apart, each bearing multiple gunshot wounds.

A Toyota pickup truck, registration number GT 3079-17, was also found burned beyond recognition.

The bodies have been transported to the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital morgue for preservation and an autopsy.

Police have begun a manhunt for the perpetrators and are urging members of the public to provide credible information that could assist in their arrest.

The Command further advised the public against resorting to violence and encouraged the peaceful and lawful resolution of disputes.
