The Ministry of Health has begun a nationwide exercise to ensure the fair and equitable distribution of doctors across all regions and districts in the country.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Health Training Institutions and Spokesperson for the Ministry, Tonny Goodman, the initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare services and strengthen human resource capacity within Ghana’s health sector.
The Ministry urged doctors currently going through the recruitment process to accept postings to available vacancies across regional and district hospitals.
The statement said that placements are being conducted strictly through the Ministry’s official online portal, and no individual or group has been authorised to collect money or influence postings in any way.
“Eligible doctors are cautioned not to engage middlemen or pay any persons who promise to alter or fast-track their postings,” the statement warned, stressing the Ministry’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the posting process.
As part of its broader goal to achieve universal health coverage, the Ministry reaffirmed its policy of equitable distribution of doctors to all districts.
The exercise, it noted, is essential to ensuring that every Ghanaian, regardless of location, has access to qualified health professionals.
All qualified doctors have been encouraged to visit the official Ministry of Health website to complete their registration before the deadline indicated on the portal.
This move, according to the Ministry, demonstrates the government’s determination to strengthen Ghana’s healthcare delivery system through fairness, transparency, and inclusivity.
