The family of Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, Member of Parliament (MP) for Builsa South and Deputy Minister of Education, is mourning the passing of their beloved father, Mr. John Azundem Apaak.
Known affectionately to his family as 'Baba', he passed on to glory earlier today, November 4, 2025, at the Bolgatanga Hospital.
Mr. John Azundem Apaak was a dedicated man of faith and a respected Deeper Life pastor in the Bolgatanga community.
He recently celebrated his 81st birthday on October 25, 2025.
The news was confirmed in a statement released by the family, signed by his son, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak.
The family has formally informed the leadership of the Deeper Life Church in Bolgatanga of the loss.
The statement paid tribute to Baba's impactful life, which was anchored in his Christian faith and his service within the Deeper Life Ministry.
“It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of our beloved father, Mr. John Azundem Apaak. He passed on to glory earlier today, November 4th, 2025 at the Bolgatanga Hospital,” the family announced.
The passing of the patriarch occurred just over a week after he marked his 81st year.
In this difficult time of grief, the family has appealed to the public to respect their privacy as they begin preparations for funeral rites.
The statement concluded with a request for prayers for the immediate family members, including his wife, their 76-year-old mother, his grandchildren, and his five children: Clement, Daniel, Anthony, Margaret, and Abel.
Dr. Clement Abas Apaak is a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, representing the Builsa South Constituency in the Upper East Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He serves as the Deputy Minister of Education and is a member of Parliament's Education and Public Accounts Committees.
