The Ghana–Russia Center for Commerce and Relations has taken a major step toward reinforcing bilateral cooperation between Ghana and the Russian Federation through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Moscow’s Synergy University, a renowned private higher education institution.

The agreement was formalised on 13th November 2024 by John Aggrey, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana–Russia Center, and Nina Vladimirovna Belchenko, Vice-Rector of Synergy University.

The partnership seeks to establish long-term academic, cultural, and scientific collaboration, opening new avenues for students, researchers, and professionals from Ghana and Russia.

Under the MoU, the institutions will cooperate in areas such as personnel training, knowledge and technology exchange, and the implementation of educational and scientific programmes.

Activities will be coordinated by the Department of International Business at Synergy University, led by Sergey Alexandrovich Sarymov, Director for International Business Development.

Through this framework, both bodies aim to leverage their combined expertise and resources to advance shared objectives.

The Ghana–Russia Center continues to champion initiatives that strengthen ties between the two nations.

The Center's “Work in Russia, Grow in Ghana” programme, launched earlier this year, is designed to create opportunities for Ghanaians seeking employment prospects in Russia, while also encouraging Russian investment in Ghana.

The partnership with Synergy University marks a significant boost to this broader agenda.

“This partnership is a testament to the strong relations between Ghana and Russia,” said John Aggrey. “We look forward to working with Synergy University to create meaningful opportunities for students, researchers and professionals from both countries.”

Vice-Rector Belchenko welcomed the collaboration, noting: “We are excited about the prospects of this partnership and are committed to promoting academic, cultural and scientific cooperation between our institutions.”

Beyond academic advancement, the initiative is expected to deepen cultural engagement and strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between Ghana and Russia.

In addition, the Ghana–Russia Center has announced plans to roll out a series of events and programmes aimed at promoting cultural exchange, fostering academic partnerships, and expanding business cooperation.

These activities will offer platforms for student interaction, research collaboration and professional placements across both countries.
