Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced plans to establish a welfare office at the Jubilee House to cater for the needs of party members if he is elected flagbearer and subsequently wins the 2028 presidential election.
Dr Adutwum said the initiative is part of his broader commitment to strengthening the support system for loyal party members and ensuring that opportunities within the party and government structures are fairly distributed.
He noted that welfare concerns remain a major issue for the grassroots and require deliberate attention.
Speaking to delegates during his campaign tour of the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, November 25, he said: “I will create a dedicated office at the Jubilee House with a welfare officer whose sole responsibility will be to address the concerns of party members.”
The Education Minister also pledged to introduce a Patriotic Health Insurance Scheme to support party members with medical costs not covered by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS).
He explained that the intervention would help reduce the financial burdens that often prevent members from accessing critical healthcare.
Beyond health support, Dr Adutwum outlined plans to provide grants to NPP members engaged in trading to help expand and stabilise their businesses.
He appealed to delegates to back his candidature in the January 2026 flagbearer election, assuring them that he is prepared, confident, and committed to leading the party to victory.
