The Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has charged staff of the Circle Tax Service Centre to recommit themselves to discipline, integrity, and professionalism as Ghana works to meet its domestic revenue targets.
During a working visit, Dr. Forson said his purpose was to listen, encourage, and help chart a clear path toward improving revenue performance.
He stressed that the national revenue targets set for the year are conservative and fully achievable.
“What we need now is commitment, discipline, and integrity in the way we mobilise revenue,” he told the staff.
The Minister highlighted three key priorities for strengthening collections: reducing external interference, tightening compliance, and expanding the deployment of electronic systems designed to seal loopholes and boost efficiency.
Dr. Forson reiterated his stance on performance-based accountability, stating that he is determined to reward hardworking officers who deliver results while holding accountable anyone whose actions or inactions undermine the operations of tax offices or the broader national revenue effort.
“Ghana cannot afford anything less,” he emphasised, calling on personnel to rise to the challenge as the country pushes for a stronger, fairer, and more sustainable revenue system.
