Accra came alive on December 13 as the Beyond Kontrol concert brought fans and musicians together for a night of music, energy and celebration.
Headlined by rapper Medikal, the show marked one of the season’s first major concerts, setting the tone for the Christmas festivities.
The event featured a star-studded line-up of Ghanaian artistes who thrilled the crowd with nonstop performances.
Acts including Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Mr Drew, OliveTheBoy, Asaka Boys, Obrafour, Wendy Shay, Bisa Kdei, Kuami Eugene, Kofi Kinaata, Fameye, Kojo Black, Lalid and others delivered hit after hit, keeping the sports stadium alive with music and dance.
When Medikal finally took the stage, the energy in the venue peaked. Fans sang along passionately, celebrating the headliner’s moment and reaffirming his strong connection with his audience.
Beyond the performances, the concert reflected a growing sense of unity within Ghana’s music industry. Music duo Keche, who also performed on the night, described the show as encouraging, noting that it was refreshing to see both fans and fellow artistes rallying behind Medikal.
“It’s exciting to see musicians and fans come together like this. It shows how united the industry is becoming,” the duo said.
Legendary rapper Obrafour also shared his excitement after his performance, saying it was fulfilling to see younger fans, particularly Gen Z, sing his songs word for word.
“Seeing the young ones connect with my music is a blessing,” he said.
Patrons who attended the concert praised the experience, with many highlighting performances from Medikal, Sarkodie and Obrafour as standout moments. Several described the event as electrifying and well worth the long hours.
The concert lived up to its name, stretching through the night into the early hours of the next day.
With Shatta Wale closing the show around 6am, large numbers of fans were still on their feet at the sports stadium, fully engaged until the final performance. What began on December 13 rolled seamlessly into the morning, sealing Beyond Kontrol as a concert that held its audience from start to finish.
