Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru is on course to join Belgian side La Louvière in what is expected to be a loan move from Anderlecht, with the Brussels-based club set to continue paying part of his salary.
The 28-year-old was dropped from Anderlecht’s A-team last summer after failing to convince the club’s technical staff fully.
Despite that, his contract was extended until mid-2027 as a contingency measure, with the club operating under budget constraints and hopeful he could still develop into a key asset.
Ashimeru is now seeking regular playing time at La Louvière as he pushes to revive his club career and boost his chances of earning a place in Ghana’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.
He joined Anderlecht in July 2021 and has since earned 12 caps for the Black Stars. However, opportunities have been limited this season, with the midfielder making just four league appearances and scoring one goal.
Ashimeru has a current market value of €700,000, according to Transfermarkt, and had previously been linked with a move to fellow Belgian side Genk.
Majeed Ashimeru is attracting concrete interest from FC Nordsjaelland, with discussions already underway.
