Nearly 900 female students of the Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) have been displaced after a devastating fire gutted the school’s girls’ dormitory on Wednesday afternoon.
The affected dormitory, which accommodates students from four houses — Aggrey, Arthur, Ali, and Gbewaa — was completely destroyed by the blaze.
Students who were attending classes at the time of the incident reportedly rushed back to the dormitory in an attempt to salvage their belongings as the fire spread rapidly.

Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service battled the inferno for several hours before eventually bringing it under control.

No casualties were recorded, but the fire caused extensive damage, destroying beds, mattresses, books, uniforms, and other personal effects.
Many of the affected students have been left distressed and without accommodation as school authorities assess the situation.
