Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has revealed plans to strengthen the Black Stars’ technical team as preparations intensify ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in June.
According to the GFA Spokesperson, discussions are already underway to bring in additional technical personnel, following recommendations made by the head coach Otto Addo immediately after Ghana secured qualification for the tournament.
“There are also plans to strengthen the technical team, which is very known, is one of the recommendations that the coach made immediately after our qualification, and that discussion is also ongoing,” he told Luv FM.
He disclosed that the association will soon announce new members who will join the team’s backroom staff, as part of broader efforts to ensure the Black Stars are fully prepared for the global showpiece.
“Very soon, we shall announce new hands that will be joining us for the World Cup.
“A lot is being done, but the interesting thing in football is that everything you do behind the scenes is not recognized until the team lines up on the pitch to play.”
Ghana will open their World Cup campaign on June 17 with a Group match against Panama in Toronto.
Henry says preparations will continue steadily between now and the opener to ensure the team is in peak condition.
“From now until June 17, when we line up for our first match in Toronto against Panama, we will continue to work to make the team better,” he added.
The Black Stars will play friendlies against Austria and Germany in March before their campaign in Canada, Mexico and USA in June.
