The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has held discussions with the Secretary-General of the Pan-African Youth Union, H.E. Wiisichong Bening Ahmed, on potential areas of collaboration aimed at empowering young people across the continent.
Mr Ayariga described the courtesy call at the NYA as a productive engagement focused on positioning African youth to compete globally through strategic partnerships and targeted interventions.
He noted that both institutions share a common vision of building a generation of skilled, innovative and confident young Africans capable of driving the continent’s transformation.

According to the NYA CEO, discussions centred on how African countries can leverage skills training initiatives to equip young people with practical and employable competencies.
Particular emphasis was placed on Ghana’s National Apprenticeship Programme and other technical and vocational pathways as models that could be strengthened and replicated to enhance youth employment and entrepreneurship.

Mr Ayariga reaffirmed the NYA’s commitment to working with continental youth bodies and other stakeholders to expand opportunities for skills development, capacity building and cross-border collaboration, stressing that empowering Africa’s youth remains central to sustainable development and global competitiveness.
