Media icon Nana Aba Anamoah has revealed that her bucket list interview is topped not by a politician or a global tycoon, but by the 'Queen of the Airwaves', Doreen Andoh, as well as the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Multimedia Group.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z on Saturday, 21st February 2026, Nana Aba confessed that her fascination with Doreen Andoh stems from a phone call she made as an average Joe fresh out of secondary school.
Nana Aba’s revelation highlights a rarely seen side of the formidable broadcaster, that of a wide-eyed fan inspired by the kindness of a veteran.
A soothing voice and a life-changing call
Recalling her early days of "trying to figure out this media thing", Nana Aba shared an anecdote about calling Joy FM years ago to seek advice. At a time when she was "nobody", she was shocked to be put directly through to the radio legend.
“She spoke to me on the phone. I said, 'Oh, I want to be a media person, but I don’t know what to do,' and she gave me some advice that I don’t even remember, but it was her voice. It was so soothing on the phone, and I thought, 'Oh, this woman is adorable,'” Nana Aba recounted.
Despite running into Andoh frequently over her decades-long career, Nana Aba admitted she has never told Doreen about that pivotal phone call.
30 years of relevance: The Doreen Andoh mystery
For Nana Aba, the primary motivation for wanting to sit across from Doreen is to decode her unprecedented longevity. With Doreen Andoh surpassing the 30-year mark in broadcasting, Nana Aba expressed awe at how the midmorning show host has maintained her grip on the audience without ever becoming stale.
"I don’t know how Doreen has done it... 30 years," she remarked. "There isn’t a single time you tune into the radio and say, 'Oh, my bad, I’m tuning off.' You will listen from the beginning to the end. And she [Doreen] still has that power."
So profound is this admiration that Nana Aba publicly urged the radio goddess to document her journey: “Doreen should be writing a book... because I would love to read that book.”
Chasing the Founder of The Multimedia Group
While Doreen Andoh is her number one target, Nana Aba also named Mr. Kwasi Twum as her second dream interviewee. Despite scepticism from the host, Kwame Dadzie, regarding the likelihood of such an interview ever happening, Nana Aba remained defiant.

Referring to the interview as "feasible" rather than just "possible," she vowed to secure the sit-down before her time on earth is done.
“I know that will never happen... but you see, in this life, never say never. I know that day will come. It will come before the Lord Almighty calls me. I will interview that one,” she insisted.
Legacy and the 'Pioneer' Spirit
Nana Aba's comments come at a time of significant transition in the Ghanaian media landscape, where veterans are increasingly being looked to for mentorship.
Her praise for Doreen Andoh serves as a reminder of the power of responsive and accessible leadership, a theme she also touched upon when grading the current Mahama administration’s performance.
As Nana Aba continues to dominate her own sphere, her quest to interview the woman who unknowingly inspired her as a teenager remains one of the most anticipated potential clashes of the titans in Ghanaian media history.
