Gospel musician Piesie Esther has revealed that financial difficulties prevented her from continuing her education beyond junior high school.

Speaking on PrimeTime on Joy Prime with host George Quaye, she recounted how poverty brought her academic journey to an early end.

“I didn’t continue school after JHS due to financial constraints. There was nobody who could support me at that time,” she said.

According to the singer, although she desired to further her education, circumstances at home made it impossible. She explained that she truly wanted to continue, but the situation would not permit it.

She also spoke about the emotional toll the hardship had on her father. “It was very difficult for my dad too. I recall one day we woke up and he was nowhere to be found,” she disclosed. She said the development left the family confused and heartbroken.

Explaining his decision, Piesie Esther said her father acted out of love and frustration. “He loved his family, so he decided to travel without telling anyone since he couldn’t watch us go through pain,” she stated, adding that his departure placed full responsibility on her mother.

Despite not attending senior high school or pursuing tertiary education, the gospel musician said she refused to allow her background to limit her future. She highlighted how determination, talent and faith helped her build a successful career in gospel music.
