The quarter-final stage of the MTN FA Cup delivered drama and decisive performances over the weekend as four clubs secured places in the semifinal stage of the competition.
Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC defeated Division One side Attram De Visser FC with a strong extra-time performance.
Youngster Kelvin Nkrumah stole the spotlight by scoring a hat-trick to power the Mauve and Yellow into the final four.
All three of Nkrumah’s goals came in the second half of extra time as Medeama won 3-0.
Former champions Aduana FC also booked their spot in the last four after a convincing 3–0 victory over Techiman Liberty Youth. The Premier League side produced a dominant display, showing their intent to push for silverware this season.
At the Cape Coast Stadium, Dreams FC advanced after a tense battle against Heart of Lions. The match ended 1–1 after extra time before Dreams FC held their nerve to win 4–3 on penalties and secure qualification to the semi-finals.
The final quarter-final fixture saw Nations FC face Berekum Chelsea in an all–Premier League contest for the last semi-final spot.
With Aduana FC, Dreams FC, Medeama SC and one more semi-finalist confirmed from the weekend’s action, attention now shifts to the semi-finals.
However, the respective clubs will now return to league action in the coming details before the FA Cup semis come into the picture again.
