The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed a fire outbreak at a rubber recycling facility at Afienya, off the Akosombo Road.
In a Facebook post shared on Thursday, March 26, the GNFS indicated that five fire appliances had been deployed to the scene to combat the blaze. Firefighters worked to bring the situation under control and prevent the fire from spreading.
Although details were limited as at the time of filing this report, the incident was reported to involve a rubber recycling industry, raising concerns due to the highly flammable nature of materials typically handled at such facilities.
