Black Stars Head coach, Otto Addo, believes the 5–1 defeat suffered by his side against Austria on Friday did not accurately reflect the performance of his side.
The Black Stars were convincingly beaten in the international friendly, but Addo suggested the margin of victory was harsh on his team.
“The scoreline was a bit deceptive and our performance wasn’t so bad,” Addo said after the match. “If we were a little bit smarter, we could have gotten something from the game.”
Ghana struggled defensively during the encounter but still showed glimpses of attacking promise, with the coach highlighting areas where better decision-making could have changed the outcome.
The Black Stars face Germany on Monday, where Addo will hope his side can respond positively and sharpen their performance.
Despite the heavy loss, the Ghana boss remains optimistic that lessons from the Austria game will help his team improve ahead of their upcoming test against the European giants.
