A three-storey building has collapsed at Accra New Town, with several people may be trapped beneath the debris.
The incident occurred earlier today, though the exact cause of the collapse remains unclear.
Residents and bystanders quickly rushed to the scene in an attempt to rescue those trapped under the rubble.
It is said to be an uncompleted building at the Accra New Town Experimental Basic School which hosts Christian worshipers on Sundays.

Some individuals were seen using bare hands and basic tools to clear debris before the arrival of emergency services.

Others gathered at the site, watching anxiously as the situation unfolded.

About eight person have been rescued as authorities are yet to confirm the number of people trapped or injured.
Police, NADMO and the fire service officers have now taken over rescue operations and secure the area to prevent further risk.
Some trapped victims can also be heard shouting to draw the attention of rescuers from beyond the debris.
